Season Finale wrap up

HEROES: Does anyone watch this besides me? If you do- WHY didn’t they shoot Peter or why didn’t he just fly himself in the sky? I hope the Petrelli’s are back- they are both HOT. What is Momma Patrelli’s power????

The Bachelor: Stupid- this guy has no personality. Tessa is too good for him.

Dancing with the Stars- Figured Apollo would win- I wanted Ali to win- she was great. She didn’t do great in the finale though…

Idol: DITTO LOVE Blake, but Jordin did better in the last show…

Grey’s: George flunked, what?!?!?!? It’s because he was too worried about Meridith spacing out during the test. He needs to spend less time being in love with his friends and more time in love with his WIFE maybe??? I hope Burke isn’t gone- despite the controversy, I like him. Izzy could go- she is a sucky actress. WHY is everyone so in love with Merideth anyways? She is as big as a toothpick and needs to go eat a cheeseburger.

The OFFICE: YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim and Pam, sittin’ in a tree…
What is Jan’s deal? She has gone off the DEEP end!!!

Survivor- who cares anymore… blah blah..have a race, eat some bugs, backstab, win a million… blah blah blah…

LOST: ??? enough said…

YES I know, I watch too much TV. When the kids go to bed and Ryan leaves for work, I am just not tired yet and bored, so I have to have something to do!!!

TRICKY!!!

I just read Dana’s blog about her tricky conversation with Libbie- not to be a BLOG COPY CAT, but I just had a tricky talk with Alex last night so I thought I would share. It’s pretty funny- you would have been laughing at me if you saw me squirming!!! All of you with little girls and the Myers and Matsko little girls yet to be born- this is what you have to look forward too!

Alex: mom- who are you married to again?
Buf: Daddy
A: well who can I marry then?
B- anyone you are friends with when you grow up…
A ok- I will marry Lilly
B well, um, girls usually marry boys
A I don’t want to marry a boy
B well you don’t have to marry a boy, but that’s just how it usually goes.
A. Isn’t Elle married to Katie (friends of Ryan’s that are lesbians)
B well yes sort of
A ok well then I want to marry Lilly.
B- do you want to have babies when you grow up?
A Yes
B well you can’t if you marry a girl, you have to marry a boy for that
A- why? Where do babies come from?
B Well, (at this point I was wishing I hadn’t opened THAT can of worms!) you just marry whoever you want. If you want to marry Lilly, that’s fine. So what do you want for dinner tonight???

Luckily my quick topic change did the trick! I had to be very careful what I told her because I didn’t want her saying something to Elle and Katie about how girls aren’t suppose to be married or something! TRICKY! She is only 3 for pete sake!

Slip and Slide

Let me preface this by saying I am a big kid at heart. I think I play more with Alex's toys and watch more cartoons than her sometimes. Well anyways- it was hot out and I bought her a slip and slide. I really don't need to tell you the rest of the story here do I? hahaha! I am sore from head to toe and have bruises everywhere. Let me tell you- those things are NOT made for adults!!! I have never seen her laugh so much though so it was worth it.

Did everyone have a good weekend?

Hello!

Hello!!! I always try to blog everyday, but usually mid way thru I get interrupted by some pesky work stuff I need to do! I have some exciting news though! I have been trying to keep this in because I don’t want my mom to know just yet.

***** So please, if you work at the hospital and are reading this DO NOT TELL MY MOM! ***

I put in for a HUGE promotion! It’s the same position as the one I put in for in Atlanta, but it’s a much better location. It’s HERE!!! My supervisor got promoted to manager of the Chicago group, which leaves her spot wide open. I would be the claims manager for all of Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Illinois (excluding Chicago- Chicago is so big, they are separate from us). I would have 8 employees to manage and I would oversee the Loss Control portion of about 130 rental offices. I am SO excited and REALLY hope I get it! I don’t want my mom to know yet just in case I don’t get it- I don’t want her to be disappointed. So anyways- I think my interview for it is next week- wish me luck!!!

Other than that, nothing much new to report… Alex’s dance recital is coming up, she is really excited about that. I will be sure to post pictures of her in her costume soon. I will be in Streator the weekend of June 8th. If anyone will be around let me know, maybe we can get together.

BLAKERS made it to the finals!!! Yeah! I really like Jordin too though- so whichever wins will be fine. Someone (I think Steph) mentioned that once they get this far, they all pretty much get record deals so it doesn’t really matter anyways. Oh and a 1 hour OFFICE season finale tonight! Can’t wait! I hope Karen gets that job at corporate so she is out of the picture and Jim and Pam can finally get together. I wonder if Andy ever made it out of the weeds and that sumo suit? Hahaha!!!

GYM

Believe it or not- I joined a gym!!! Well, I got kind of roped into it, but still…. Ryan’s company pays for a membership and they pay ½ of a membership for spouses. He just signed us up and handed me my card and told me when they are open! So I went yesterday at lunch- no one was there- it was nice. I don’t like doing new things for the 1st time. I am worried I will do something stupid. Well anyways- I figured the place out and really liked it there. There were a few people there, but not too many. I really want to do a spinning class, but they don’t have them during lunch. That’s the only time I can go. It’s right by my office though so I have plenty of time to get there, workout, clean up and get back to work. It’s a nice break in the middle of the day. Oh lord- I tried the elliptical machine – that’s freaking hard!!! I think I had it on LANCE ARMSTRONG setting though, so I will try it again on level 1! : ) Between this and my 2 slim fast shakes a day and ‘healthy meal’ at night- I’m bringing sexy back!!! hahaha!!! Well trying too anyways!!! : )

SSS (swim suit saga)

Blog oh Blog- sorry I have neglected you. Things have been crazy at work, so I haven’t had time for you!

Ok so I FINALLY found a new swim suit for the summer and our vacation. Let me tell you, it has been an ordeal. I didn’t want to do the skirt thing because I am not 50. However, I am slightly past the age that I can wear a glorified thong! It seems there is nothing in between. I did find some bottoms that worked, but the tankini tops were too short and I am not about to be showing my belly after having kid #2! Why not a 1 piece you may ask? Again- my torso is so long, those never work. Not to mention they seem to just draw attention to my not so flat belly! I did find one that worked but it was $65 for the bottom and $65 for the top. HELLO! The bottoms are nothing more than lycra underwear really! Vickie’s secret doesn’t even try to charge that much for underwear! I don’t know how those people can sleep at night charging so much for that!!!
It was starting to look like I would be the one in the pool with shorts and a tank top on, but my new favorite store in the world pulled thru for me. Yes Steph, Penny’s saved the day again! I got this cute blue number that actually covers the bottom and the tank part is long enough. It’s actually pretty and I like AND it was on sale, so I didn’t need to take out a loan for it!

Now I just need to find a suit for Alex. She has the same problem with the torso thing so this should be fun! I have already bought 3 and have had to return them. (trying on suits on a 3 year old in the store is not an option! I have to buy them and try them at home…) Boys are SO easy! I just bought Ryan and Ty some trunks and they are done. Trunks always fit with no problems!!!

Shopping nightmare

What a weekend I had! Ok so I was in desperate need of new clothes for work. That’s another long story in and of itself, but anyways- needed clothes. Well Penny’s was having an amazing sale to begin with- then I had that coupon from Steph for the friends and family deal. So I was bound and determined to make it there on Sunday. Well, as Murphey’s law would have it, when we got up Sunday morning- all 3 of them were sick. Ryan could not even get out of bed. He kept saying he could watch the kids, but I was too worried that he wouldn’t be able to deal with 2 little ones. 2 sick little ones not to mention. So since I had gone to Target and some other stores with both kids, I figured I could handle Penny’s.
As I was getting Alex ready, she decided she HAD to wear her new shoes. After fighting forever about it- I just gave in. Pick your battles you know. I knew they were going to hurt her feet, but it wasn’t worth the fight anymore. So we get there, and all is going well. They are angels! Ty is sleeping in the stroller, Alex is helping me pick out clothes. IT’s great. I had to do it in shifts kind of- I shopped for them tried on capri’s and shorts in one shift, then work clothes in another shift, and swim suits in another shift. Alex would get too bored being in the fitting room during all that at one time. Well her feet started hurting- big shocker. She wanted me to hold Ty so she could ride in the stroller. I have always thought those double strollers were stupid unless you had twins, but now I understand how helpful they are! So she was crying and pitching a fit, Ty woke up and was crying then, and I was about crying as I was looking at all the swim suits. Alex was so determined to leave the store she yelled out “MOM- your butt is too big for that swimming suit- now let’s go!!!!” Mortified doesn’t begin to describe it.
At the last dressing room session, I was that mother, with the screaming baby and the toddler running around peeking under everyone’s doors. I hate that mom, but sure enough, that was me this weekend. So I FINALLY make it to the check out. I was holding Ty and trying to get my stuff from the stroller to the cashier, all he is crying and Alex (scrunched up in Ty’s little car seat in the stroller) is screaming her head off. I hate that mom too- but yep- it was me. So the saint of a cashier, comes around the counter, gets my stuff for me out of the stroller and talks to Alex, showing her pictures of her horse and calming her down. I love that woman now. She was SO nice. She helped me with getting the bags back into the stroller and even came with me and helped me with the door! She even asked if I needed help at my car! I wouldn’t let her do that, but it was SO nice of her to offer. I was just a mess by the time I left. All sweaty and frazzled- I was a sight I am sure! She was probably just being nice to hurry me the hell up out of the store! Hahahaha! I did save a lot and got everything I needed (except the swim suit- that’s a whole other blog) so it was worth it I guess, but I will never do that again!!!

Stories

I have 3 funny little Alex stories to share…

The other day all 4 of us we sitting on the couch getting ready to go to bed. Alex asked me if I could turn out the light. I told her I couldn’t reach it since I was holding Tyler. Ryan couldn’t get to it either since I was in the way. Ryan said “well let me take Ty, so you can get the light” so he did and I turned off the light. Alex then shouts “Nice team work guys!!!!” I just thought that was hilarious!

Her and I got on the subject of nationalities somehow. So I was telling her that she is a little Italian, a lot Slovak and German…etc. She was confused so I just said “Honey, all you need to know is that you are American. She rolled her eyes (yes-just like I used to) and said “I know that mom, I am American Idol!”

Last one-
Ryan had to go to work early and Alex asked why he worked so much. I told her that he liked working- kind of like a hobby. She said “oh- like how Grandpa likes old cars and grandma likes to bake?” yes I told her. Then I asked her what Ty liked to do- she said “he likes to cry” I laughed and then just had to find out what she thought about me. She said “that’s easy- mommy likes to eat!” Nice. They are brutally honest at this age I tell ya!!!

The great debate 07

So it’s official- the Great Debate 07 is going on in our house. We have outgrown our small SUV. We are packed in that thing like sardines. Poor Ryan can hardly drive since his knees touch the steering wheel since the seat needs to be so far up for Alex’s ever growing legs. He can’t even sit in the passenger seat since Ty’s seat requires even more room! So as some of you have heard- Ryan’s solution to this is a minivan. The only thing I want to drive is a Mustang so there is our problem! I know that car is out of the question for quite a few years, so I am willing to compromise. It’s not that I am opposed to minivans. They have more room than SUV’s, cost less, and the mileage is way better. I get that. I just still picture myself as that party girl driving around in a sports car! It’s hard for me to picture myself as a soccer mom. I think that and the fact that we would get it this summer which is also my 5th- 25th birthday- is just freaking me out! I feel so old!!! I can’t even say my actual age or which birthday is coming up. I just refer to it as my 5th, 25th- that somehow makes me feel better. Now I LOVE having kids don’t get me wrong- I wouldn’t change that for the world! I just wish Ford made a 4 door Mustang with room for them!

Back to the grind

Well here I am- back at work already. The good news is that I will be able to blog everyday now again!!! I couldn’t bring myself to taking the kids to school this morning so I made Ryan. I can’t believe my maternity leave is over already! It goes by too fast that’s for sure. I told Ryan we are NOT having another kid unless I stay home- I can’t go thru this going back to work thing again!!!!

Anyways- did everyone have a nice Easter? Ours was good- Alex got about 14 pounds of candy I think!!! Most of it is going in the freezer- there is no way she needs that much dang candy! It was so nice to see everyone too- we had such a nice time. It was the 1st time Ryan and I had been out together with no kiddo’s (since Ty was born) AND the 1st time I have had a drink since Sarah’s wedding last year!

Ok well I can’t write much today- I have a zillion things to get caught up one! More tomorrow though!!!

TV and more TV

Nothing new to report. My mom is here for a few days helping me out around the house. Mostly just watching the kids so I can get some stuff done. It's a HUGE help!

Ok so some TV talk- did anyone else see that train wreck of a hair-do (the "pony-hawk") that Sanjaya wore on American Idol? I don't even know what he sang since I was in shock over that! HE DIDN'T EVEN GET BOOTED EITHER!?!?!? Who is voting for this ass clown? I was sad to see Chris go- he was funny. He hasn't been that great though.

This Office is having a marathon tonight! It's all reruns I am sure, but it will still be funny. I wonder when the new ones start up again! I miss that show. I thought I remember the shows being new from Sept-May before but now it seems like there are only like 8 new shows a year now! I do like that LOST is having all new ones. 16 in a row or something. Do any of you watch it?

MOVIES- I also just watched the Departed. I still don't know what I thought of it. Didn't end at ALL like I thought- but that's good for a movie I guess. It gets boring watching ones that end the way you think all the time. It confused me though towards the end. It went on and on forever and then the last 20 minutes a million things happened so I got confused. I may have to re-watch it. I would recommend it though.

I can't wait to rent BLADES OF GLORY with Will Ferrell. It looks SO bad- but that's what will make it hilarious. Like Napoleon Dynamite- the best movie ever! Just SO bad that it's good!

OH! Saw Little Miss Sunshine too- I want to thank whoever told me it wasn't at all like they thought it was going to be and it was a little depressing. Knowing that ahead of time made it better and I wasn't disappointed then. I liked it a lot. Kind of dark and funky- but not too out there. Anything with Steve Carrel (sp?) is going to be good!

Speaking of the best actor ever- he is going to be in the sequel to BRUCE ALMIGHTY- EVAN ALMIGHTY. He plays Evan I think-can't wait for that one!

Ok I gotta run- it's sad I have nothing more to talk about than TV. That's about all there is to do with a newborn though!

Have a great weekend everyone-

Atlanta

I have been so wrapped up in this possible move to Atlanta I have not blogged in forever! It is SUCH a process to put in for promotions with my job. I had to send them a packet about myself. Resume, cover letter, last 2 reviews, driving record, letters of recommendation, business plan.... on and on and on. It's like 20 pages or something. So if you make it past that, then you get a phone interview. I had that yesterday. If you make it past that, then they fly you to wherever (Atlanta in this case) and you have another interview. They also interview your boss and GM to get feedback and their opinion of you. Such an ordeal. Anyways- I didn't make it past the phone interview. It's a blessing is disguise I am sure. I really wanted the position- it's a HUGE move up for me, but I wasn't sure about being that far away from home. I just hate the thought of my kids not really knowing their grandparents. So, hopefully something a little closer will open up and I will get that.

So- besides that, I have just been on baby duty really. Nothing fun to report. The little cherub is screaming his head off right now so I gotta run! Promise to try and blog more soon...

Oops!

I forgot to spell check that one- sorry for the errors!

Seasons

Why does everything seem to come at once? I have a list 10 miles long of stuff I need to buy in the next week or so. I wish I could just spread it out more! I need to get shoes to go with Alex Easter dress, a baptism outfit for Tyler, all the food for the party after the baptism, a spring jacket for Alex, a car seat cover for Ty so the blankets don't keep blowing off, tennis shoes for Alex (she is growing like crazy right now and the ones we bought 2 months ago don't fit) a new printer since mine just died (AFTER I spent $100 on all the ink- that I can't return but have never used!ugh!)... the list just keeps on going and going. I know that Easter is a ways away yet but I have to explain to you about the Quad cities. If I don't get Easter shoes now EVERYWERE will be sold out of them by the time April gets here. It's like that with everything. It's like they only stock this stuff once and when it's gone, it's gone. I need a new winter coat- NO one in town has any left. Last year in July Alex needed a new swim suit- no one had her size left. There was an ornament I saw I wanted to buy Ryan in October. I waiting until November to buy it and it was sold out- checked all the time until Christmas and they never got it in again. I know the stores don't want to be stuck with the crap after the season is over, but really- I need a winter coat right now, not flip flops! Anyways- so I need to get this stuff now before it's gone.

So anyways- I am off to stock up on sunscreen too before that runs out for the summer.

Diamonds are a girls best friend

I want to apologize to any of you I may have been emailing and NOT running my spell check! It does it on my work computer automatically, but not at home so I always forget. I am a horrible speller so I know you have probably gotten emails wondering if in fact it was Alex who typed them! hahaha!
I do like the spell check on this new blog- very nice.

Jill if you are reading this- I can't post comments on your blog today for some reason- but love the pix of your little one and yes- your MIL is nuts for the cat bed thing!

The excitement of my day was going to buy Peter Pan which was released on DVD today! Alex has been talking about it for weeks (damn all those commercials) so she saved up her money and we went to buy it today! She had about $6 saved up from various things, but I told her that was enough! I also had to tell her I put it in the bank so she would have to use my debit card to pay. She took it up the register and paid all buy herself and everything. The 1st time she has done that- oh my little shopper is learning well! When we were passing thru Penny's to pick up our pictures we had done there, she wanted to stop at the jewelry counter. She was looking at these small diamonds that were on sale- I told her "no no no Alex- don't look at those- look at the big ones over here- remember- the bigger the better with jewelry honey!" I didn't know anyone was around but about 3 people started laughing and told me good job for starting her off right! Am I a horrible mother? hahaha!!! I remember Libbie telling ME that when I was little!!!

Tv sucks

Tyler is 1 month old today can you believe that! I feel like I was just complaining about being pregnant forever and here he is a month old already! He isn't doing anything exciting like Emmerson yet- no rolling over, so not much fun to report. Still not sleeping all night- keep your fingers crossed for me.

Tv really sucks during the day. The Tyra Banks show had on this couple who went to a hooker together. Tyra asked them what they would do when their kids asked them about that and the hooker told the couple she hoped they would give the kid her card when he turns 18. Nice.
I can't watch the View. Elizabeth is a bubble head and Rosie drives me nuts. She is just too much to deal with. I do love the Ellen show- that's about the only day time show I like. I have found myself watching cartoons- when Alex isn't even here! They are better than crazy Rosie and hookers.

ENOUGH!

I have had enough of the snow ans ice already! It's just too much. The last storm was so bad that most of the power has been out since this weekend. At Church on Sunday there was no heat so we all crowded into the gathering space were it was drafty, cold, dark (no power) and we were on those metal fold up chairs. Those are not great conditions for a 3 week old! It was a nightmare. At least we didn't loose our power though. 1/2 the town did, but luckily we were not one of them.

Speaking of church- I just posted this on Steph's comments, but anyways- I gave up sleep for lent. Ryan says that it doesn't count because I do sleep. Sleep is more than 2-3 hours at a time though! 2-3 hours of non-awake time is called a NAP. So I am just napping these days. No sleep. I know it's only for a few months -hopfully less. We will see.

Sorry- I know- another boring blog!
