What a weekend I had! Ok so I was in desperate need of new clothes for work. That’s another long story in and of itself, but anyways- needed clothes. Well Penny’s was having an amazing sale to begin with- then I had that coupon from Steph for the friends and family deal. So I was bound and determined to make it there on Sunday. Well, as Murphey’s law would have it, when we got up Sunday morning- all 3 of them were sick. Ryan could not even get out of bed. He kept saying he could watch the kids, but I was too worried that he wouldn’t be able to deal with 2 little ones. 2 sick little ones not to mention. So since I had gone to Target and some other stores with both kids, I figured I could handle Penny’s.
As I was getting Alex ready, she decided she HAD to wear her new shoes. After fighting forever about it- I just gave in. Pick your battles you know. I knew they were going to hurt her feet, but it wasn’t worth the fight anymore. So we get there, and all is going well. They are angels! Ty is sleeping in the stroller, Alex is helping me pick out clothes. IT’s great. I had to do it in shifts kind of- I shopped for them tried on capri’s and shorts in one shift, then work clothes in another shift, and swim suits in another shift. Alex would get too bored being in the fitting room during all that at one time. Well her feet started hurting- big shocker. She wanted me to hold Ty so she could ride in the stroller. I have always thought those double strollers were stupid unless you had twins, but now I understand how helpful they are! So she was crying and pitching a fit, Ty woke up and was crying then, and I was about crying as I was looking at all the swim suits. Alex was so determined to leave the store she yelled out “MOM- your butt is too big for that swimming suit- now let’s go!!!!” Mortified doesn’t begin to describe it.
At the last dressing room session, I was that mother, with the screaming baby and the toddler running around peeking under everyone’s doors. I hate that mom, but sure enough, that was me this weekend. So I FINALLY make it to the check out. I was holding Ty and trying to get my stuff from the stroller to the cashier, all he is crying and Alex (scrunched up in Ty’s little car seat in the stroller) is screaming her head off. I hate that mom too- but yep- it was me. So the saint of a cashier, comes around the counter, gets my stuff for me out of the stroller and talks to Alex, showing her pictures of her horse and calming her down. I love that woman now. She was SO nice. She helped me with getting the bags back into the stroller and even came with me and helped me with the door! She even asked if I needed help at my car! I wouldn’t let her do that, but it was SO nice of her to offer. I was just a mess by the time I left. All sweaty and frazzled- I was a sight I am sure! She was probably just being nice to hurry me the hell up out of the store! Hahahaha! I did save a lot and got everything I needed (except the swim suit- that’s a whole other blog) so it was worth it I guess, but I will never do that again!!!

Stories
I have 3 funny little Alex stories to share…
The other day all 4 of us we sitting on the couch getting ready to go to bed. Alex asked me if I could turn out the light. I told her I couldn’t reach it since I was holding Tyler. Ryan couldn’t get to it either since I was in the way. Ryan said “well let me take Ty, so you can get the light” so he did and I turned off the light. Alex then shouts “Nice team work guys!!!!” I just thought that was hilarious!
Her and I got on the subject of nationalities somehow. So I was telling her that she is a little Italian, a lot Slovak and German…etc. She was confused so I just said “Honey, all you need to know is that you are American. She rolled her eyes (yes-just like I used to) and said “I know that mom, I am American Idol!”
Last one-
Ryan had to go to work early and Alex asked why he worked so much. I told her that he liked working- kind of like a hobby. She said “oh- like how Grandpa likes old cars and grandma likes to bake?” yes I told her. Then I asked her what Ty liked to do- she said “he likes to cry” I laughed and then just had to find out what she thought about me. She said “that’s easy- mommy likes to eat!” Nice. They are brutally honest at this age I tell ya!!!

The great debate 07
So it’s official- the Great Debate 07 is going on in our house. We have outgrown our small SUV. We are packed in that thing like sardines. Poor Ryan can hardly drive since his knees touch the steering wheel since the seat needs to be so far up for Alex’s ever growing legs. He can’t even sit in the passenger seat since Ty’s seat requires even more room! So as some of you have heard- Ryan’s solution to this is a minivan. The only thing I want to drive is a Mustang so there is our problem! I know that car is out of the question for quite a few years, so I am willing to compromise. It’s not that I am opposed to minivans. They have more room than SUV’s, cost less, and the mileage is way better. I get that. I just still picture myself as that party girl driving around in a sports car! It’s hard for me to picture myself as a soccer mom. I think that and the fact that we would get it this summer which is also my 5th- 25th birthday- is just freaking me out! I feel so old!!! I can’t even say my actual age or which birthday is coming up. I just refer to it as my 5th, 25th- that somehow makes me feel better. Now I LOVE having kids don’t get me wrong- I wouldn’t change that for the world! I just wish Ford made a 4 door Mustang with room for them!

Back to the grind
Well here I am- back at work already. The good news is that I will be able to blog everyday now again!!! I couldn’t bring myself to taking the kids to school this morning so I made Ryan. I can’t believe my maternity leave is over already! It goes by too fast that’s for sure. I told Ryan we are NOT having another kid unless I stay home- I can’t go thru this going back to work thing again!!!!
Anyways- did everyone have a nice Easter? Ours was good- Alex got about 14 pounds of candy I think!!! Most of it is going in the freezer- there is no way she needs that much dang candy! It was so nice to see everyone too- we had such a nice time. It was the 1st time Ryan and I had been out together with no kiddo’s (since Ty was born) AND the 1st time I have had a drink since Sarah’s wedding last year!
Ok well I can’t write much today- I have a zillion things to get caught up one! More tomorrow though!!!
